K-State Basketball

K-State got a longer-than-expected layoff thanks to its early exit from the Big 12 Tournament. With nothing but time, the Wildcats are hungry to get back on the court this Thursday against Southern Mississippi.

Ahearn pondered the committee's lack of respect for the Big 12 yesterday, but Frank Martin -- aka, the conference's best spokesman -- said it outright: the conference deserved a No. 1 seed, either KU or Missouri.

K-State Women's Basketball

Just like the men's team, K-State's women's basketball team earned a No. 8 seed for the NCAA Tournament. The ladies will play Princeton at 10:20 a.m. (!) in Bridgeport, Conn. A matchup with top-seeded UConn is likely if K-State advances.
