K-State Basketball

K-State is the No. 8 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats will face No. 9 seed Southern Mississippi, led by former Iowa State coach Larry Eustachy, this Thursday at 11:40 a.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa. The winner will likely face top-seed Syracuse in the round of 32.

It's a testament to the work Frank Martin has done at K-State that, while still noted as an accomplishment, making the NCAA Tournament is no longer a milestone for celebration.

The State of Kansas has three NCAA participants, as KU and Wichita State join K-State in the field of 68.

K-State Women's Basketball

Baylor's Brittany Griner poured in 45 points as the undefeated Bears rolled to an 86-65 win to knock K-State out of the Big 12 tournament. The Wildcats should be in the NCAA Tournament field, but will have to wait until tonight to find out.

Big 12 Tournament

Missouri put a stop to Baylor's somewhat surprising run to the Big 12 Tournament finals, posting a 90-75 win in their final Big 12 conference basketball game.

Berry Tramel doesn't see the Big 12 Tournament leaving Kansas City anytime soon. That may be the case right now, but I won't be surprised if, when the tournament's contract with Kansas City is up in 2014, we start to hear a lot more momentum for it to move to Oklahoma City or Dallas.
