K-State takes the Thanksgiving week off to prepare for the season finale against Texas (unfortunately, the long-range forecast for Manhattan next Saturday calls for mostly sunny and a high of 60). But there's plenty of good football today, and plenty of games of interest to K-State.
Of course, beating Texas next week is the paramount concern right now. But K-State can clinch a Big 12 title this weekend, and could yet be playing for a national title appearance next weekend if everything goes exactly right today. Here's the summary of what you should keep your eye on:
Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, Athens, Ga., 11:00 a.m., ESPN -- Barring a miracle, the SEC is going to have a title game participant, so this is an either-or with the Alabama scenarios.
Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma, Norman, Okla., 2:30 p.m., ESPN -- K-State clinches the Big 12 title with an Oklahoma State win.
Florida vs. Florida State, Tallahassee, Fla., 2:30 p.m., ABC -- K-State needs Florida out of the way if it's to traverse the road to Miami.
Oregon vs. Oregon State, Corvallis, Ore., 3:00 p.m., Pac-12 Network -- Ditto Oregon, as the Ducks are in front of K-State in the BCS. An Oregon loss next week to UCLA in the Pac-12 title game would work, too.
Auburn vs. Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala., 2:30 p.m., CBS -- We don't necessarily need both Alabama and Georgia to lose, and...oh, hell, Alabama isn't losing to Auburn this year. Just hope the Tide takes out Georgia in the SEC title game next week.
Notre Dame vs. USC, Los Angeles, Calif., 7:00 p.m., ABC -- Fight on.
