We're number one.
SB Nation's BCS guru, Samuel Chi, predicts it. So does ESPN's Brad Edwards. And our own Jon Morse did a fine job breaking down the standings in today's National.
So here we are, with two games left in the season, and K-State is the top-ranked team in the land. But with Oregon and Notre Dame still undefeated, it's possible someone gets left out. As a result, the commentary and speculation hasn't quieted yet. So in a matchup against the other two potential unbeatens, does K-State deserve a spot in the BCS championship game over the other two?
That's the question that will be debated endlessly over the next few weeks, but the consensus at this point is that K-State is deserving. I'm working on a post making the case for K-State, but it's going to take some time to get it built and formatted. For now, know that my answer is that K-State clearly deserves a shot at the BCS championship game if it goes 12-0.
You're shocked, I know. The updated BCS standings will be released at 7:30 p.m.
