Robert Lee Rose (b. Feb. 21, 1989) made a bit of noise in spring practice, when he apparently was neck-and-neck with DeMarcus Robinson for third-string status and perhaps even was pushing John Hubert for the second team.

He ripped off a 30-yard run for the White team in the spring game (the infamous play when Arthur Brown ran him down on the sideline from all the way across the field) and finished with 11 carries for 48 yards.

Was Rose's depth chart status the product of something he was doing or more a factor of Robinson's failure to separate himself from the pack thus far? It's hard to say. I'm concerned it's more of the latter.

Rose stands just 5-foot-4 and he isn't exactly a burner in the traditional sense of the word.

He must be a hard worker, though, to have the opportunities he was afforded in the spring game (or the previous one in 2010). And he appeared in the Texas game last season, so he hasn't taken a redshirt yet.
