#15 Sam Johnson |
Position: Quarterback Previous College: None Projection: Scout Team Status: Walk-On |
Samuel David Johnson (b. July 29, 1992) seems likely to serve as K-State's primary scout-team quarterback, after seeing a fair amount of playing time for the White team in the spring game. He completed 3 of 5 passes for 28 yards.
The three scholarship quarterbacks ahead of Johnson on the depth chart obviously will be needed solely for game action, either as starters or reserves. But his most important role won't be to hold a clipboard or wear a headset.
No, Johnson probably will spend most of his weeks this fall emulating Landry Jones or Brandon Weeden or whichever other high-powered, strong-armed passing demon we're facing that given Saturday.
He's well-equipped for the role, considering he holds the Topeka city record for passing yardage. No mean feat, that.
