#56 Alex Hrebec
Previous College: None
Status: On Scholarship
Alex Hrebec (b. Oct. 5, 1988) is everyone's favorite fireplug. Yes, he may be built like a boxcar and have the top-end speed of a paddle boat, but there's no denying his toughness or his work ethic.
Hell, even Ron Prince realized what a hard worker Hrebec was and awarded him a scholarship. Maybe it had something to do with him being the best player on the horrendous 2008 defense. As a freshman.
How can you not love a guy who, despite non-advantageous physical attributes, basically has led the linebacking corps in tackles for three years running? Who barely blinked when walking off the field with a dislocated elbow?
I consider it a testament to the overall improvement of the 2011 linebackers that no one expects Hrebec to start a single game in 2011. Of course, sustaining a knee injury in spring camp might have something to do with that.
