#79 Keenan Taylor |
Position: Offensive Line Previous College: None Projection: Starter Status: On Scholarship |
Keenan Taylor (b. July 16, 1991) exited spring ball as the projected starter at the left guard position, but given that he's never started a game and saw predominantly mop-up time in 2010, it's not as thought he has it locked up yet.
Indeed, he's in quite the battle with redshirt freshman Tomasi Mariner, who many thought would find his calling at center, but instead — thanks to the surprising emergence of B.J. Finney — now appears destined to be a guard.
Whomever eventually wins the job will find that filling Zach Kendall's shoes is no easy task, but both players are young and athletic prospects who should create some stability at the position for the next three seasons (or more).
In other words, Mariner and Taylor are vying to become the future anchor of the K-State offensive line. It's a tough task, but someone's gotta do it.
