Big win last night for the Bat Cats, who knocked off No. 7 Oklahoma, 5-4, in the opening round of the Big 12 tournament. Ross Kivett was again the hero, driving in the winning run in the top of the ninth. K-State faces Texas A&M at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Win that one, and the Cats should have a chance at picking up an at-large spot in an NCAA Regional. Of course, they could just win out and remove all doubt.

Joe Posnanski has a few thoughts on Paul Splittorf.

If you're interested in how K-State performed in the latest NCAA APR report, the results are here. Personally, I think APR is a pretty worthless metric, so I don't really care much.

These before-and-after images of Joplin, Mo., are incredible. Last I heard, the death toll is up to 125, and there are still more than 1,000 people missing.
