K-State Slate: 5.23.11




The Bat Cats swept KU to lock up the No. 6 seed at this week's Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla. With the sweep, a miserable year in KU sports history (basketball excepted), came to a close.

K-State will play No. 3 seed Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Depending on their result in that game, they will play either the winner or the loser of the Texas A&M/Texas Tech game on Thursday.

Meant to post this link last week. From SB Nation, the "Great Man" theory of coaching, which takes a look at the success of coaches like Chris Petersen at Boise State and Brad Stevens at Butler. There could be some lessons to be learned about making head coaching hires from an article like this for a school like K-State.
