1

Former Kansas State infielders Carter Jurica and Adam Muenster have signed professional contracts and will begin play in the minor leagues. Jurica, who was drafted in the third round by San Francisco, was assigned to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes of the Class A Short-Season Northwest League, which opened the season Friday night against Everett. Muenster, a 29th-round draft selection by Cincinnati, will begin play Monday as a member of the Billings Mustangs of the Rookie Pioneer League. The other members of K-State's 2010 draft class, which includes left-handed pitcher Kyle Hunter and four incoming players, had not signed professional contracts as of Friday morning.
