Points of emphasis from Wednesday night:
- Nice road wins for UNLV and Xavier, both of which are inching back closer to Top 25 status.
- In retrospect, it should have been obvious that it would be Mark Turgeon who ended the Mizzou Streak. Mike Anderson now is 0-4 against Texas A&M, which must tickle Aggies to end, considering Billy Gillispie's predecessor, Melvin Watkins — who once went 0-16 in conference play — now sits on the Missouri bench. Bad loss for Missouri, and one that suddenly makes the Tigers look more like an 8-8 team than a 10-6 one.
- What the hell was that, KU? Yeah, you won, but still... The Jayhawks' bodies might have been in Boulder, but their heads still were in the Octagon.
- I had a momentary panic attack when I logged onto Yahoo! last night and saw the following score: Iowa State 70, Baylor 55. I was like, WTF? Then I clicked on it and saw that some Web monkey had flipped the two teams. Phew. I want no part of a dangerous Cyclone team coming off a confidence-building win such as that.
