I cannot believe it's October...

Football

Instead of a true bye week, both K-State and Nebraska have 12 days to prepare for their upcoming clash in Manhattan.  In surprising news, Bill Snyder makes a comment that sounds like he doesn't totally hate Thursday night games.

Coach Franchione (Brad, not Dennis), Justin Tuggle's coach at Blinn, believes Tuggle will be a perfect fit for K-State. Here's hoping this Franchione knows what he's doing.

Oklahoma State kicked a field goal as time expired to beat Texas A&M last night in a wild game.  The big story was A&M's supposedly all-conference quarterback, Jerrod Johnson, throwing four picks and putting a ball on the turf that was returned for a touchdown.  No word yet on whether he played like a coward.

This is a great story about K-State alum DeLoss Dodds.  It also gives you all the reason you should ever need to hope we keep owning Texas:

At his first big function as athletic director, he spoke during the Houston Touchdown Club's luncheon before Texas played rival Texas A&M. The emcee introduced the Longhorns' new AD with a sneer.

"DeLoss Dodds," he said. "I've always wanted to meet the man who would transform UT athletics to the standards of Kansas State."

In the surprise of the century, KU's beat writer for the TCJ pronounces Aggieville "underrated."  I've seen it all.
