RPI WATCH: 1/20/2010

Despite its pedantic overall record, Boston U. actually isn't doing too shabby in conference play. That might turn into a good win for us after all.

Alabama, on the other hand, is nose-diving, losing its third consecutive SEC game to fall below .500. The Crimson Tide look like an NIT team at this point, given the overall weakness of their conference. Don't expect Bama to be listed among our RPI Top 100 wins much longer...

And Oklahoma continued its Jekyll-and-Hyde act, fighting back from a 10-point halftime deficit in College Station to outscore Texas A&M 20-6 in the beginning of the second half, but ultimately falling to the Aggies by three points. Road wins are rare enough in this league — you have to capitalize on your chances when they're there.

A win in Lubbock looks unlikely, as well, so the Sooners are looking like a mortal lock for the NIT at this point — or maybe even one of the lower tournaments.
