RPI WATCH: 1/13/2010

What do Big 12 teams playing away from home have in common with armadillos?

They both get killed on the road.

The trend continued last night with losses by Baylor and Texas A&M, bringing Big 12 home teams to a combined — and eye-popping — 115-1 at home.

And with former basement dwellers and sub-100 RPI teams such as Colorado and Oklahoma knocking off South teams expected to be on the bubble, it's pretty clear at this point that no Big 12 road trip will be a cakewalk, no matter how lowly the opponent is considered to be.

So hopefully K-State will take heed of Baylor's downfall and prepare with the utmost intensity for Saturday's game against the Buffaloes. Many said Colorado could beat people, but now that threat has teeth and it no longer is merely lip service.
