Football

Kevin Haskin, Topeka Capital-Journal -- Big 12 schedule needs updating: Now this is a take on the Big 12 schedule that I haven't seen before.  Haskin proposes more conference games earlier in the season, similar to the SEC, as a way to reduce the chances of a bloody Saturday where MAC, Sun Belt and Conference USA opponents topple league foes.  I haven't had enough time to think about all the ramifications of this, so I'll leave the floor to you in the comments section.  I'm pretty sure I know what Bill Snyder would think of it.

Austin Meek, TCJ -- No shakeup at QB: At this point, unless Daniel Thomas can play better at QB with Keithen Valentine at running back, we may as well put Carson Coffman in there and let him take his lumps.  He can only get better with experience.

UCLA

Coach Rick Neuheisel has yet to name a starter for this weekend's game.  Most seem to be guessing that UCLA will start true freshman Richard Brehaut, although 2008 starter Kevin Craft could factor into the equation.  Also, using some info from BOTC, Nestor from Bruins Nation has a roundup on K-State to start the week.  At least at BN, UCLA fans seem to be taking this game seriously.

The Fourum

Link.  Srsly, Beth Men...err, Persondenhall is the most-commented-about writer for the Collegian I've seen in a long time.  I guess when you write about the "virtues" of vegetarianism in the middle of Kansas, you're bound to get that type of reaction.

So my friend goes to UNL, and she hates their newspaper so much that she reads the Collegian online.

Heather: I'm going to go home and eat a 12-ounce steak with bacon and eggs just for you.

Me and my roommates had Manwich for supper last night. Oops, I mean "Peoplewich."
