Open Game Thread: K-State vs. Nebraska

Who: K-State vs. Nebraska
When: February 20, 2008 | 8:00 p.m.
Where: Lincoln, Neb. | Bob Devaney Sports Center (13,595)
Media: Yahoo! Sports | ESPN2

For SpecialSteve's earlier preview of Nebraska, check here.  Not a whole lot has changed with the Huskers in the two weeks since the meeting in Manhattan.  Nebraska is 3-7 and stands 11th in the Big 12 right now.  No matter how difficult road games are in the Big 12, this is a game that we must get.  We are more talented than Nebraska across the board and Devaney, despite our recent struggles, is not an especially difficult environment.  As of this morning, there were 3,000 unsold tickets for the game, and it's only a two-hour drive from Manhattan.  We need to get in, get a win, and get out.  I don't care how that win is accomplished--outside of illegal means, of course--I just want a win.

From the folks who buy ink by the barrel: The KC Star notes K-State's underrated but impressive defense, and previews tonight's matchup with the Huskers...the Topeka Capital-Journal notes that the Cats really need to get back to their early-conference-season road form...the Wichita Eagle sheds some light on the friendship between K-State's Bill Walker and Nebraska's Cookie Miller.

Don't forget, the women also play at home against a solid Oklahoma club.  Get a win here and the ladies are looking good for a regular season conference title.  How awesome would it be to have both basketball trophies in Manhattan?  Tipoff is at 7 p.m. for the women.

Go Cats!
