This is old by now, but Chip Brown -- formerly of the Dallas Morning News, now of Orangebloods.com -- reported yesterday that the Pac-10 will extend membership invitations to Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado. The initial bonfire the report created turned into an uncontrolled blaze when Colorado AD Mike Bohn initially gave it credibility, before later backing off. Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott also essentially denied the report.
Given the report's timeline, we'll know by this weekend.
