Kansas State senior running back Daniel Thomas was named to the watch list for the 74th annual Maxwell Award, given annually to the nation's most outstanding college football player, the Maxwell Football Club has announced. Thomas was one of 60 players nationally, including 10 from the Big 12 Conference, named to the preseason watch list, and became the first Wildcat to earn the distinction since Darren Sproles in 2004. Former quarterback Michael Bishop also was a finalist for the award in 1998.
