K-State officially will kick off the start of basketball season Friday night by hosting "Madness in Manhattan" at Bramlage Coliseum before a national spotlight on ESPNU's Midnight Madness.
The event, which is sponsored by K-State Federal Credit Union, is free to the general public.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the festivities kicking off at 7 p.m. on the Bramlage Coliseum floor.
