Wildcat Men Finish 18th at NCAA Championship

The Kansas State Wildcats made an impact at what longtime track and field coach Cliff Rovelto called the best NCAA Championship meet he ever has seen. The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships saw the Wildcat men finish in a tie for 18th and the women 45th. The weekend was highlighted by Mantas Silkauskas in the heptathlon and Erik Kynard in the high jump.

Kynard Named Midwest Region Field Athlete of the Year

The awards for Kansas State sophomore high jumper Erik Kynard continue to come in this season. After the school record holder was added to the Bowerman watch list last week, he was named the Midwest Region Men’s Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA. Kynard has won all five competitions he has jumped in this season and broke the school record by leaping 7-07.75 to win the Tyson Invitational in mid-February. The jump not only was a K-State record, but it also was the third-highest jump in collegiate history.
