The awards for Kansas State sophomore high jumper Erik Kynard continue to come in this season.
After the school record holder was added to the Bowerman watch list last week, he was named the Midwest Region Men’s Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA.
Kynard has won all five competitions he has jumped in this season and broke the school record by leaping 7-07.75 to win the Tyson Invitational in mid-February.
The jump not only was a K-State record, but it also was the third-highest jump in collegiate history.
