Dalonte Hill Talking to Maryland?

Not a fan of this, but I'm sure some of you will rejoice...

Hill, Underwood Invited to Villa 7 Consortium

Kudos to both, but I'm not sure this is something K-Staters who enjoy seeing stability in our coaching ranks should celebrate.

Hill Receives Coaching Honor

+

Kansas State associate head men's basketball coach Dalonte Hill was recently named among the Top 25 high-major assistant coaches in college basketball, according to FOXSports.com. Hill, who is entering his fifth season at K-State this upcoming season, came in at No. 22 on the list, which included four other Big 12 assistant coaches (Kansas' Joe Dooley (No. 1) and Kurtis Townsend (No. 12), and Texas' Russell Springmann (No. 13a) and Rodney Terry (No. 13b). Several factors were used in compiling the list, including the program's success while on staff, longevity, total years as an assistant, head coaching experience, recruiting, reputation amongst peers and future potential.

ESPN Outside the Lines: Package Deals

5

ESPN's Outside the Lines did a segment on "package deals". Dalonte Hill is interviewed for his obvious connection with Michael. What's interesting here is that Baylor, KU, and Memphis are also brought into the discussion. Here's the deal, folks. If you want to compete at the highest levels, you have to do what's necessary. If KSU wants to compete with KU and Memphis, we shouldn't apologize for using their tactics. We love you, 'Te. Don't let anyone ever think that we don't think you're worth every penny to this athletic department. You're every bit as instrumental to the resurrection of this program as Bob Huggins, Frank Martin, and Michael Beasley.

Curtis Kitchen: Dalonte Hill Responds to Gary Williams' Comments

I wasn't aware that Gary Williams said this, but I'm glad Curtis wrote about it. I'm getting really tired of hearing people moan about Dalonte Hill's salary. He's worth every penny of that and then some, in my opinion.

From Rush The Court: Deal or No Deal - K-State Style

From Rush The Court, the preeminent college basketball blog, I found this analysis of Dalonte Hill and his $420,000 salary. Good breakdown of why he's worth every penny we're paying him, and then some. That's not even mentioning Panjandrum's recent observation that we may be on the cutting edge here by paying assistants top dollar to bring in bigtime recruits in the era when players have to stay in college at least one year.
