In case any of you are still thinking about realignment...

...Bill has a good post over at RMN that notes the utter lack of any sourcing on the current realignment rumors. It sounds like some of the people who run Texas A&M message boards have Chip Brown Envy. Which, given Texas A&M's stance toward Texas in general, wouldn't be terribly surprising.

Big East Considered Adding K-State, KU, Mizzou and Iowa State

Meant to post this yesterday, but like a lot of things, it slipped my mind. Interesting information out of New York regarding what the Big East may have done in conference realignment. A 20-team basketball conference and 12-team football conference. Wow. Apparently Panjandrum wasn't as crazy as some thought.

KU, MU, KSU now targeted by Mountain West

...but not, apparently, Iowa State... and not, definitely, Baylor (who TCU will actively oppose).

Report: Pac-10 Set to Invite Six Big 12 Teams

This is old by now, but Chip Brown -- formerly of the Dallas Morning News, now of Orangebloods.com -- reported yesterday that the Pac-10 will extend membership invitations to Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado. The initial bonfire the report created turned into an uncontrolled blaze when Colorado AD Mike Bohn initially gave it credibility, before later backing off. Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott also essentially denied the report. Given the report's timeline, we'll know by this weekend.
