Kansas State will be participating in an in-season tournament in Hawai'i for the third time in its history in 2011, after the school was selected to play in the third annual Hawai'ian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, to be held Dec. 22-25, 2011, at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
K-State takes the place of Texas A&M, which previously was announced as a participant in the 2011 event.
The tournament also will replace the Wildcats' previously announced participation in the Cancun Governor's Cup in Cancun, Mexico.
Kansas State will be participating in an in-season tournament outside of the U.S. for the first time in the program’s history in 2011, as the school was selected to participate in the second annual Cancun Governor’s Cup to be held in late December 2011 at Poliforum Benito Juarez in Cancun, Mexico, on Wednesday.
The eight-team field will include K-State, College of Charleston, Massachusetts, Rice, Southern Illinois and Utah, along with two additional teams to be announced at a later date.
