Wildcats Play Scrimmage Before Big Crowd Saturday


As a preview to its 10-day trip to Brazil, the Kansas State men's basketball team played a spirited 30-minute scrimmage Saturday before an estimated crowd of 2,000 fans at Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats alternated between the Black and White teams, playing with FIBA rules, which they will utilize during their 10-day trip to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Men's Basketball to Hold Public Scrimmage Saturday


Kansas State fans will get their first glimpse of the 2011-12 men’s basketball team Saturday, when it holds a public scrimmage for fans from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Bramlage Coliseum prior to the Oklahoma football game.

K-State Announces Non-Conference Schedule


Preparing his team for a new and rugged Big 12 basketball schedule, Kansas State head coach Frank Martin announced today a 13-game non-conference slate featuring as many as six contests against teams that advanced to the postseason in 2010-11. K-State will play seven of its non-conference games in Bramlage Coliseum, including five consecutive to start the season.

K-State Announces Year-End Team Awards


Senior Jacob Pullen captured three awards, including the Rolando Blackman Team Most Valuable Player trophy, to highlight festivities at the annual Kansas State men’s basketball banquet held Wednesday night at Bramlage Coliseum.

Wildcats Host Tianjin Club Team


The Kansas State volleyball team played the top professional team from China at Bramlage Coliseum on Thursday night in front of an excited crowd. The Wildcats played five sets with Tianjin, dropping all five in tightly contested match 21-25, 13-25, 27-29, 20-25, 13-15.

Wildcats to Host Top Chinese Professional Team


Volleyball fans will have the opportunity to see one of the best teams in the world play for free this week when the Kansas State Wildcats host Bridgestone Tianjin at 5 p.m. Thursday in Bramlage Coliseum. Tianjin is the top-rated professional Chinese club team and has won its league championship seven of the last 10 years.

Pullen, Kelly Lead Wildcats on Senior Day


Jacob Pullen and Curtis Kelly combined for 30 points in their final home game as Kansas State clinched the No. 4 seed in next week’s Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship with a 67-55 win over Iowa State on Senior Day at Bramlage Coliseum. After starting the Big 12 season 1-4, the Wildcats (22-9, 10-6) have won eight of their last nine and will go into next week's Big 12 Tournament as the hottest team in the league. Pullen was given a standing ovation in Senior Day ceremonies before the game, and the sellout crowd again came to its feet with a few seconds to go when Frank Martin substituted for the guard, who is one of only two K-State players to score more than 2,000 career points.

Cats Take Down No. 20 Missouri, 80-70


Jacob Pullen scored 24 points, hitting a career milestone in the process, and Kansas State pulled away in the final minutes to beat No. 20 Missouri 80-70 on Saturday before a sold-out crowd at Bramlage Coliseum. Curtis Kelly added 15 points and six rebounds for the resurgent Wildcats (20-9, 8-6), who have won six of seven and are battling Missouri (22-7, 8-6) for the fourth and final bye in the Big 12 Tournament.

K-State to Hold BBTF Groundbreaking Ceremony


A ceremonial groundbreaking to officially kick off the construction phase of K-State’s Basketball Training Facility project will be held Saturday morning, prior to the Wildcats’ basketball doubleheader, athletics department officials announced Tuesday. The public ceremony, featuring President Kirk Schulz, Athletic Director John Currie, head basketball coaches Frank Martin and Deb Patterson, and lead contributors Rand Berney, Patti Berney, Jim Johnson and Laura Johnson will begin at approximately 9:05 a.m. on the east lawn of Bramlage Coliseum, following a private program for donors to the project. Both events will be streamed live at k-statesports.com as part of the K-State All-Access platform, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
