Fundamentally, the 34 page audit summary released Friday covered a review of accounts handled by the KSU Alumni Association, the KSU Foundation, the National Institute For Strategic Technology Acquisition and Commercialization, the KSU Golf Course Management and Research Foundation, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. In general, it found that responsibility for most of those entities traced back to the office of the vice president for institutional advancement, rendering the entities themselves less capable of independent decision-making than they should have been.
