This either is going to work brilliantly — resulting in Fred Hoiberg being named Big 12 Coach Mayor of the Year after his squad finishes third — or it is going to be an epic chemistry fail that will make last year's Texas squad look like a Girl Scout jamboree.

The Kansas State men's basketball team will be honored for its record-breaking season before Friday's home baseball game with Nebraska, set for 6:30 p.m. The squad will be recognized in a pregame ceremony, while Big 12 Coach of the Year Frank Martin will throw out the first pitch.
