Three Wildcats named midseason All-Americans

K-State placed three players on Phil Steele’s Midseason All-American Team as linebacker Arthur Brown, kick returner Tyler Lockett and quarterback Collin Klein were recognized Wednesday by the publication. Brown was named to the All-America first team, Lockett was a second-team pick, while Klein earned third-team honors at the halfway mark of the 2012 season.

Thirteen Wildcats Earn Preseason All-Big 12

Led by preseason All-American picks Arthur Brown and Tyler Lockett, Kansas State placed a total of 13 student-athletes on Phil Steele’s 2012 preseason All-American and All-Big 12 football teams released Thursday by the publication.

Former K-State consensus All-American Mark Simoneau will become just the second Wildcat football player and first under head coach Bill Snyder to earn college football's most prestigious honor as the former linebacker was announced today as part of the National Football Foundation's College Football Hall of Fame induction class of 2012.

Two-time All-American Jacob Pullen has signed his first professional contract with Pallacanestro Biella, also known as Angelico Biella, of the Italian League.

Martini, Allen Earn Preseason All-America Accolades

Kansas State outfielder Nick Martini and relief pitcher James Allen were named to the 11th annual Pro-Line Athletic National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) preseason All-America team, the organization announced Wednesday. Both players earned third-team honors and they became the first Wildcats since closer Daniel Edwards in 2008 to earn preseason All-America accolades from the organization.

Three Wildcats Earn All-America Status

Kansas State's Corey Adams, Daniel Thomas and William Powell each earned All-American honors when Sports Illustrated and Phil Steele released their 2010 All-American teams. Adams was named a first-team All-American by Phil Steele, while the publication placed Powell on its fourth team. Sports Illustrated named Thomas an honorable-mention running back and Powell an honorable-mention returner.

Zimmerman, Walker Named Freshman All-Americans

Kansas State defensive back Ty Zimmerman and linebacker Tre Walker earned freshman All-America honors when multiple organizations released their postseason teams Tuesday. Zimmerman was a first-team freshman All-American selection by Rivals.com, CollegeFootballNews.com and Phil Steele, while Tre Walker was a fourth-team freshman All-America pick by Phil Steele.

Thomas, Powell Earn All-America Honors from Rivals

Two Kansas State seniors have earned the highest honor one can achieve on the football field — running back Daniel Thomas and kick returner William Powell were named 2010 All-Americans by Rivals.com. Thomas, a Doak Walker Award semifinalist and first-team All-Big 12 pick by the Associated Press, was named a second-team All-American, while Powell, a former walk-on and first-team All-Big 12 pick by the coaches, was named to the All-America third team.

Thomas Named to All-Big 12/Top 25 Lists

Kansas State running back Daniel Thomas continued to earn preseason accolades when the senior was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team on Thursday, while also checking in at No. 16 in NationalChamps.net's 2010 preseason rankings of the nation's Top 25 college football players. A Doak Walker Award and All-America candidate, Thomas was the lone Wildcat named to the All-Big 12 preseason squad, voted on by the media, while he was the second-highest rated player in the Big 12 on the national Top 25 list, which was compiled by Heisman Trophy voter Todd Helmick.

Thomas, Hartman Honored by Phil Steele

Kansas State running back Daniel Thomas and safety Tysyn Hartman have been named to Phil Steele's preseason All-Big 12 football teams released Wednesday by the publication. A Doak Walker Award and All-America candidate, Thomas was named to the magazine's All-Big 12 first team after leading the conference in rushing in 2009. Hartman, a third team selection by Phil Steele, was an All-Big 12 performer at safety in 2009 and was also an Academic All-Big 12 and All-District VII pick for a program that has led the Big 12 in graduation rate in each of the last three years.
