Around SBN: VIDEO: Austin Rivers' Buzzer Beater Finishes Off UNC

Congratulations Jordy Nelson!

Consensus All-America Jordy Nelson will be taking his game north, to Green Bay, Wis.  Although the Packers are not my favorite NFL team, I will enjoy cheering Jordy on at the next level.

Congratulations on the reward for all your hard work, Jordy, and best of luck at continuing to prove the doubters wrong.

Congrats to Jordy and K-State fans

I was happy to see him go so high. I was fortunate enough to be at the K-State/Baylor game to see him in person and see him break some record in front of the home crowd. He's one hell of a player and seems like one hell of a kid. You guys should be proud.

Thanks rpt

You saw him break K-State's single-season record for receptions.  Also got to see that sweet, one-hand catch.

Couldn't be more right about him being a great kid.  His parents started a restaurant/sports bar in Leonardville, a little town near Riley, where he's from (both are about 20 miles from Manhattan).  He's been working part-time at the restaurant since it opened.  Like he needs the money...he's about to sign an NFL contract.  Just helping the family out.

In a strange way, he probably can thank Pacman Jones in a small way for his high draft position.  With Roger Goodell's emphasis on high-character players, NFL teams are probably more inclined to take a guy like Nelson high.  That said, his draft position is more due to his own hard work and ability than any extrinsic factors.

We'll carry the banner high!
