Senior Night Open Game Thread: K-State vs. Colorado

Who: K-State vs. Colorado
When: March 4, 2008 | 8:00 p.m.
Where: Manhattan, Kan. | Bramlage Coliseum (13,340)
Media: 1350 KMAN, Yahoo! Sports | ESPN+

Many thanks to each senior in this year's class.  See mystman's post below for more thoughts on Senior Night.

Clent Stewart: Thank you for sticking with this program through three head coaches, two seasons with no postseason appearance, and one NIT appearance.  Thank you and your family for the inspiration provided by the grace with which you handled your mother's painful passing this season.  Most importantly, thank you for representing K-State with nothing but class.  Best of luck in finishing with a high GPA and good luck with that job in Tulsa.

Blake Young: The ironman of this team, Blake Young has started every game this year and 11 games last year through injuries.  Your quirky shot and floppy dreads have been a welcome sight on the Bramlage Coliseum hardwood, but even better than that has been the scrappy play and hustle you have brought to the equation.

James Franklin: It has to be hard to put so much time into something and get little playing time or glory out of it, but James Franklin has done so without the slightest complaint. On the contrary...

"I look at like this: If nothing else happens in my life from now on, this is the proudest I've ever been," he said. "To be able to not only leave here with a degree but to say I got to play Division I basketball at my dream school is the greatest feeling I've ever had."

Well done, sir.

David Hoskins: Although we would be entirely remiss not to honor him tonight, every bit of me hopes we will see David Hoskins back on the court next season in the Purple and White.  For everything he brought to this program, not to mention the fact that he stuck around this year after the devastating knee injury, he deserves another year.  But even if he doesn't make it back, he has done an awful lot for this program and will be badly missed.

Thank you, Seniors.

Go Cats!
