Get Out the Vote
Some quick Monday evening thoughts while sipping a Boulevard Wheat...
Michael Beasley is up for ESPN.com's "Big Man On Campus." If you're so inclined, click here to vote.

The women's basketball team has jumped to a 2-0 start by defeating Texas A&M and Texas. Beating those flag-wavers sure is fun...

George Brett was one hell of a baseball player. But he sure is a moron. Trust me George, you don't have to be a KU fan if you live in Kansas City. Tens of thousands of Mizzou, K-State, and even (gulp) Nebraska fans would be happy to disagree with you on that one. For those who didn't see it, Holly Rowe of the Worldwide Leader interviewed Brett at the OU/'beaker basketball game tonight and asked him why he was there. He answered, in part, that "living in Kansas City, you gotta be a KU fan."
Here's my question: if KU games on Big Monday are so special, why do they get Holly Rowe and not Erin Andrews?

Darren Sproles is the man. I renew my call for some NFL general manager to rip him out of San Diego so he can get on the field more.

Sorry, that's all I got today. Look for a new feature here at BOTC tomorrow, the All-Big-12 Hair Team (basketball edition). Thanks to reader mystman for the idea.

I watched the Charger's game on Sunday just to watch to see how much playing time Sproles would get. You don't want to see a player like LT go down, but that's what it's going to take to get Sproles some action and boy did he deliver. The Chargers have without a doubt the best RB depth chart in the NFL and I agree with TB on this one, Sproles must go. I'm hoping LT's not quite 100% for the Patriots game and our boy #43 has a break out party and get's plenty of notice like Dominic Rhodes and Joeseph Addai did last year. I don't think he's an every down back, but combine him and a power back like Michael Turner and there's a great 1-2 punch.
One more alumni comment....
I had no idea Jeromy Clary was in the NFL. I knew he was drafted in '06, but never followed to see if he made it anywhere. Sure enough he was starting for the Chargers and throwing blocks for Sproles like old times.
Ahh, yes
"Ell, under center, takes the snap. Option right with Sproles, Clary throws a huge block! Roberson pitches to Sproles, he's at the 40. Turns upfield he's at the 30. Eludes a defender, what a move! He's at the 20, 15, 10, 5...WILDCAT TOUCHDOWN!"
