Open Game Thread: #25 K-State vs. #17 Oregon

Who: #25 K-State vs. #17 Oregon
When: November 29, 2007
Where: Manhattan, Kan. | Bramlage Coliseum (13,340)
Media: 1350 KMAN | ESPN2

I don't know why, but I don't have a good feeling about this game.  Maybe it was the Cats' performance in the Old Spice Classic last week.  Maybe it's because we're playing a veteran--the Ducks will likely start three seniors and two sophomores--and experienced--went to the Elite 8 last year----team.

On the football front, Jordy Nelson was named an All-American today.  Nobody is more deserving.  Congrats Jordy!

Start
Pretty good start for the Cats.  Up 16-7 early.

Beasley already has five points and a couple rebounds.

Nice board by Darren Kent there.

Stupid announcing

If Fran Fraschilla calls us "Kansas" again, I'm gonna throw something.

Zone
Oregon's zone is absolutely killing us right now.  We really need to stop chucking threes up there.

Of course, everytime we attack, we turn it over.  Perhaps we need to work on a little zone offense this week...

Oh yeah, and why is Beasley sitting.  No foul trouble, he's been our only consistent threat, and he's already gone out of the game twice.  A little mid-half breather is necessary, but he's already been out too much.

What a game!

I'm just glad that my Ducks came out on the winning end of it.  Your guys are only going to get better this year.

Maybe the best part is that this means you won't be in our first weekend bracket in the NCAAs.  I want no part of you guys again!

Best of luck the rest of the way.  You're a fun team to watch, and I'll be sure to check out the 'Cats a few more times this season.
