Adventures of the Big 12: Iowa State (Part 1)

Some of you who enjoy the Adventures series probably wonder where in the hell I come up with a lot of these characters and their personalities. Sure, I like to take what I perceive to be the university's "real life" personality, but I also have a back story in my head for each and every one of them that works its way onto the page.
Yes, I'm that weird.
Anyway, as some of you have probably already guessed by reading other Adventures posts, I'm a big fan of Lost, so the usage of flashbacks is attractive to me in telling a story. So I figured that since Big 12 play has started, I'd try to share bits and pieces of that back story with you when appropriate.
Considering that this is 'Farmageddon' week, I figure it's only fitting to start off with Iowa State.

Adventures of the Big 12: Redemption (and a Man Named Texas A&M)
Because everyone was so patient, I've decided to put this up earlier than Monday. I won't get into the backstory because I'm sure you're all just wanting to find out how this story ends.

An Apology: "The Adventures" Will Be Coming...
Good readers, I want to apologize. I said that the conclusion would drop today, and it didn't come.
Funny story...I had actually started writing it, and honestly, I liked where it was going. However, last night, before TB and I did a podcast with our good friends at Rock M Nation, my hard drive froze. I spent the better part of six hours trying to recover data and restore my system from Vista's 'Safe Mode'. Believe you me, there's nothing "safe" about Windows Vista, but I digress.
Regardless, one of the casualties of that debacle was losing the work I had already done on the final chapter of the trilogy. In a strange way, the island infected my computer as well.
So, I just wanted to throw an apology out there. I'll be sitting down tomorrow to write the final chapter (again), and hopefully, it will be up on Monday. Please, check back then.
In the meantime, here are the links to the previous chapters for those of you who aren't acquiainted with the story thus far:
- Prequel: Spring Break
- Part 1: The Search for Texas A&M
- Part 2: Lost
If anyone wants to know what I think of Windows Vista, well...

Adventures of the Big 12: The Search for Texas A&M

Well, ladies and gentlemen, after a long break, our friends from the Big 12 have returned for more of their wacky adventures.
The last time we saw them, they were enjoying Spring Break in Daytona Beach. The action picks up right where they left off back in April, and as the title of the story implies, our old friend, Texas A&M, has gotten himself lost while riding up and down the Florida coast on his jet ski.

Adventures of the Big 12: Spring Break
The boys are back, and this time they're looking to unwind in the Florida sun. Sure, some of the schools are already hot and heavy into Spring Practice, but that doesn't mean the schools can't spare a little time to engage in some drunken debauchery.
Just to warn you, the following post contains foul language, numerous references to alcohol and drugs, and there's even a scene where a girl takes her shirt off.
In short, it's authentic Spring Break. If any of those things insult you, please feel free to not click the jump. Otherwise, follow along and join the fun in the next chapter of the "Adventures of the Big 12".

It's the end of another calendar year here at BOTC, and it's the end of a very eventful, and successful, year for our conference.
To celebrate, our friends from the Big 12 are back to bring in the new year with a bang, and they are getting down in Austin, Texas this year as the Longhorns have graciously agreed to host the party.
Let's see what our friends from the Big 12 are up to at the end of the year, and what they resolve to do in 2009!
