K-State Slate: 6.24.14 - Summer Baseball Update: MaVorhis is dealing

Gone but not forgotten. - Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

We check in on baseball and on Daniel Sams.

BracketCat checks in with #68 Luke Hayes as the countdown continues, and KSUEMAW! jumped on K-State's latest commit, Georgia RB Kalin Heath.

Andrew Canulette of the New Orleans Advocate with a nice article on Daniel Sams and his return to Louisiana.

K-State provides this week's summer update. Mitch Meyer has indeed signed with the Brewers, and has reported to Helena. He's only 2-14 so far, but one of those two hits was his first professional homer. Ross Kivett's off to a good start for the Connecticut Tigers; Austin Fisher's struggling at the plate for Mahoning Valley but is getting on-base at a pretty good clip. And in the Cape Cod League, Levi MaVorhis made one appearance last week - a relief outing where we threw six scoreless innings. His ERA is down to 0.75.

Katie Brand is spending 10 days in Minneapolis training with the US College National Team. Kelly McHugh has the story.
