Interestingly enough, the Jayhawks digs come in just 454 seats short of the High Point Solution Stadium capacity. It is not one of the bigger stadiums, but the "Rock Chalk Jayhawk" chant is one of the college cheers to hear at least once in person. If you met any of the folks from Kansas State and Iowa State over previous bowl seasons, you know Big 12 fans are a hospitable and football knowledgeable bunch. It will be the longest trip to Manhattan you will ever make from New Jersey.

A few months ago, I spoke with Jamie Blatnick, the former Oklahoma State standout. I'd asked Blatnick, who had faced Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Sam Bradford, who was the toughest QB he ever had to prepare for. His answer surprised me: "Collin Klein because he can really run and is tough as nails."

According to two people with the strongest ties possible to Florida State's Athletic Department, FSU fully plans on exiting the Atlantic Coast Conference. Florida State will begin its transition to the Big 12 Conference beginning this June. One source went as far as to say, "at this point the move is inevitable."

My sources confirm an agreement in principle has been reached for Clemson to join the Big 12.

The champions of the Big 12 and SEC conferences will meet in a New Year's Day bowl game annually beginning with the 2014 season, the conferences said Friday in a news release.
