Fandom Friday - to the wall!

Well, there went one of the most fun characters of the series. Perhaps because it isn't over-explored like Westeros' Mississippi, I've really enjoyed Dorne in the book. I think Oberyn and Ellaria were about perfect in this season. I'm looking forward to the Sand Snakes next year (even if they are more opportunities for the producers to butcher female character's personalities). Apparently the show's cast going to be less monochromatic next year. Good. - http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/04/game-of-thrones-new-characters-being-cast-for-season-5 (spoilers, but all of us know how books 4 and 5 go anyway, so big deal).

I'm curious why all the larger fights seem to be taking place at night. Easier to choreograph? Or cheaper because it's easier to fake CGI (here come the giants and mammoths!) I think the fight at the Wall is going to be very good, but probably too dark again. I'm disappointed we haven't seen more of Julius Caesar Mance in the episodes, but I guess him being a shepherd isn't all that interesting. But we'll see the end of Ygritte and Jon, and those monsterous Thanes too.

So when's the 998th commander of the night's watch going to be elected? I think that could be a neat series of scenes, but I don't know if that'll be this week or next.

And finally a trailer for Sunday's episode -
