K-State Slate: 4.18.14

PurpleKansas

OMG, you guys. It's finally Friday.

It's a (mostly) good news type of day.

That sound you're hearing is a collective sigh of relief. K-State finally managed to win a game, coming from behind to beat Baylor 8-2, mostly on the strength of a furious rally in the 6th inning. Ross Kivett had a key two-out, two-run single, and Levi MaVorhis won his fifth start of the season.

Not to be outdone, the K-State riders also had a come-from-behind win in their first round contest against Texas A&M at the NCEA Championships. A late comeback in Horsemanship, followed by a near-perfect performance in Equitation Over Fences gave the Wildcats the 8-7 win.

The equestrian team will take on No. 4 Auburn in the next round. Auburn won a close 7-5 contest in the teams' last meeting.

Maine transfer Justin Edwards is ready to make his impact on K-State basketball.

More on Luke Hayes and the O-line, and a snippet from Snyder on DeMarcus Robinson being sidelined with an injury, meaning Jones and Leverett will get all the snaps in the spring game.

The rowing team heads to Oak Ridge, Tennessee for the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association's Regatta. K-State will have six boats in the regatta, capping off a historic season for the team.

When Petra Niedermayerova walks off into the sunset this Saturday, it will be as the winningest tennis player in school history.

Future opponent watch: Our friends at Frogs O'War report that A&M's Matt Joeckel is to transfer to TCU.

Also, since taking potshots at the B1G is BotC's second-favorite pastime, you can now fine-tune your derisive laughter with this handy Welcome Guide to the Big Ten.
