2014 NCAA Tournament, Women's D-II Championship, WNIT: 3/28 TV Schedule

Can the Cyclones keep moving without Niang? - Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Elite Eight gets set, and Division II crowns its women's champion.

There are only six games tonight, which will bring the countdown clock down to 39 (or 40). Only one of the six games is anything less than critical, however. The Division I Men will be reduced to the Elite Eight tonight, while the Division II women will crown their national champion. This is your open thread for tonight's action.

This should be a great night of basketball, although there is absolutely nothing here for the Cinderella fan. Sure, we've got an 11 seed, but it's Tennessee. That's not a Cinderella story, that's a big-time program. We've got the Kentucky-Louisville collision, which will undoubtedly be a fun game one way or the other, but you'll have to watch it on mute to retain your sanity. Iowa State-UConn has a likeable team up against the only non-Big Five school playing tonight, but it's UConn so that doesn't really count, does it? And then there's the Spartan-Cavalier tilt, which is probably going to see the end of Virginia's dream season. It'll be worth watching, but for anyone who gets more joy out of the typical underdog narrative of March Madness than the actual games, there'll be a bit of an empty feeling.

Finally, the WNIT third round reaches its conclusion.

NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
ROUND TIME (CT) TEAM - TEAM LOCATION NETWORK ANNOUNCERS
FINAL 6:00pm (E1) Bentley vs (SC1) West Texas A&M Erie PA CBSSN unknown

Ah, a national title up for grabs. Bentley, a private school in Waltham, Mass., has had years and years of success, but they've never reached the pinnacle. West Texas A&M hasn't been in this position since the 1980s, shortly after dropping out of Division I (they used to be members of the Missouri Valley Conference, did you know that?). Bentley's now 34-0, trying to complete the perfect season. West Texas A&M is 31-2. Should be a good one, and if the Division III title games were any indication -- exciting and very well-played, which hasn't always been the case -- you may even find it worth watching, or at least channel-surfing to periodically.

NCAA Social Media Info

The NCAA has provided a wealth of internet product and social media hooks for the tournament. You can, of course, visit the official tournament website where you can find an interactive bracket. There's a web-based March Madness app which lets you watch live on your browser (so long as you're a customer of a participating provider), and for mobile users the NCAA March Madness Live app is waiting for you in your app store.

You can also follow the action through social media on Twitter via @MarchMadness, on Facebook at NCAA Men's Basketball March Madness, on Instagram at @marchmadness, on Google+ at NCAA Men's Basketball March Madness, and via the NCAA On Demand channel at YouTube.
