#7 Kip Daily

Archippus "Kip" Daily (b. Dec. 30, 1990) is a talented defensive back who redshirted in 2011 before playing in six games last year. He will be looked upon to make a push for a starting role at one of the cornerback positions.
Daily was my dark-horse candidate to start opposite of David Garrett at cornerback in 2011, but I vastly underrated the talent of Allen Chapman and Nigel Malone in so doing.
Instead, Daily settled for a redshirt year. Then last year, he only appeared in six games, recording a single tackle against Texas Tech and no other statistics. He one tackle for Purple and one for White in the spring game.
Those are severely pedestrian numbers, but the latest word from Fan Appreciation Day last Saturday is that Daily is running with the ones full-time, apparently having beat out Dorrian Roberts, Carl Miles Jr. and Morgan Burns.
As a freshman in JUCO, Daily played in 10 games for the Buccaneers as Cam Newton marched them to a national championship. Daily contributed 37 tackles, five interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
What's really crazy is that Daily grew up in College Station, attended A&M Consolidated High School and played two seasons at Blinn for Brad Franchione, who had recruiting ties to Texas A&M. Yet Daily isn't an Aggie. Smart man.
