Top billing this time of year usually goes to football, but the biggest actual news from yesterday was a basketball signing. Bruce Weber got a commitment from Marcus Foster, a 6'2" guard from Wichita Falls, Texas.

K-State Football

Bill Snyder was pleased with the progress shown by his group of youngsters in K-State's second game of the season. Also, Collin Klein was named the Big 12's offensive player of the week.

True freshman Matt Green, playing in his first collegiate tournament, leads the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic after shooting an impressive nine-under-par 133 (68-65) yesterday. The tournament concludes today.

Meanwhile, in Lincoln, K-State sophomore Carly Ragains shot 78-72 and is in second place after the first day of the Chip-N-Club Invitational. K-State is in fifth place.
