K-State's Collin Klein is on a different type of preseason award watch list. The senior quarterback is a candidate for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Award.

K-State is preparing for its trip to Brazil, both on the court and in the classroom. The players practiced Tuesday, and took a class about Brazilian history and culture.

Gary Pinkel may just want to leave this subject alone

In between answering everyone's questions about how intimidated they are and how badly they're going to get crushed in the NFC East, Gary Pinkel took the time to speak of Joe Paterno's greatness, saying "[h]e was a great man." I should probably tread lightly on this subject, because with Big 12 media days upcoming, there's at least a good chance that Bill Snyder will iterate his previous comments about Paterno.

Somebody flew a banner over State College, Pa., yesterday that read "Take the statue down or we will." No idea who the "we" is, but the statute referenced is Paterno's.
