Cornelius Lucas IV (b. July 18, 1991) is a big, big man — perhaps the only man on the roster who could give Manase Foketi a run for his money in an eating or wrestling contest.

While that doesn't necessarily translate automatically into being a dominant offensive lineman, it sure doesn't hurt.

Lucas has seen only sparing playing time in the last two seasons, but that's largely because he's been behind talented upperclassmen such as Foketi and Zach Hanson.

Although Foketi remains on the roster thanks to a medical redshirt, he seems likely to shift to right tackle or slide inside to one of the guard positions. Per Kellis' news today, Foketi will be leaving the team.

Now is Lucas' time to shine. He appeared solid in the spring game. But that doesn't mean he's going to excel when the bullets are flying in Big 12 play. Only time will tell.
