RPI WATCH: 3/5/12

Kudos to West Virginia, which won a crucial road game at USF to stop the bleeding and perhaps ensure its spot in the field of 68 after all.

That was about it for bright spots this weekend, though. If K-State wants any additional RPI help before Selection Sunday, it needs to get it by pounding fools at Sprint Center this week.

Long Beach State finally blinked at the end of a 16-game schedule, dropping a road finale to Cal State Fullerton.

It should come as no surprise that George Washington, UTEP and Virginia Tech also continued to lose.

But Alabama losing at Ole Miss when a tournament berth is not yet certain? And giving the final first-day bye to Tennessee? Yikes.

Overall Record = 21-9

Big 12 Record = 10-8

Top 50 Record = 5-6

RPI = 42

SOS = 59

Signature Wins (RPI 1-30) = Missouri (x2), Baylor

Quality Wins (RPI 31-100) = Alabama, Long Beach State, Texas

Bad Losses (RPI 101 or greater) = Oklahoma (x2)
