Arkansas: Cotton Bowl Champs; Real Life Chumps

So my dad got a chat room post in an e-mail from a Longhorn fan who wanted us to share it on as many K-State sites as possible, so I'll share this with you all as well and please pass it around to other sites as you wish to show just what kind of people the SEC has on their football teams. The post will come after the jump:

Please forgive me for posting this here, but I do not have access to your pay-board, but I'd like to share something with you guys. I'd appreciate it if someone could cut and paste it on Wabash Station for me.

I have a story I want to share with you guys...

A little background first.

I'm a Texas Ex and my son is about to graduate from Texas, so I pretty much bleed Burnt Orange.

Each year prior to The Cotton Bowl, a restaurant in Dallas, Lawrys The Prime Rib, hosts what is called "The Beef Bowl". They host each participant for dinner (on separate nights). Each team gets a nice meal and Lawry's gets some good PR. A friend of mine is the General Manager.

Tuesday afternoon/evening, they hosted the Arkansas team. My friend has been at the Dallas location for some time and has hosted many teams and his experience Tuesday evening was, by far, a big disappointment. He described their behavior as rude and arrogant. Prima Donas. He said that many of them would order something, take a bite when it arrived and not touch it again. They spent most of their time texting and pretty much ignoring the staff. Someone posted a video of them entering the restaurant. One of the players was wearing headphones, listening to music. A coach had to slap him on the back of his head to get his attention to take off the headphones. As a whole, they never requested any thing. They demanded. "Give me this", "Take that".

That was Tuesday.

Wednesday evening, Lawry's hosted the K State team. The K State players were the exact polar opposite of the Arkansas players. They were polite and gracious. "Yes, maam" "No sir", "Please" , "Thank you".

Coach Snyder addressed my friend by name when they arrived. The staff was blown away at how much of a pleasure it was to have them in the house. To a man, the team was kind and grateful to be there.

You can all be proud of your team and the job that Coach Snyder has done in helping those young men develop into true gentlemen. Truely, they are winners on the field as well as off the field. This Longhorn is very proud to be a part of the Big XII with you guys.

Good Luck tomorrow, and please, please, please beat those pigs for us.

Yup... Good to see they're some class acts down there in the almighty SEC
