Wins by Charleston Southern, George Washington (which is a surprising .500 in league play after an abysmal non-con), Long Beach State, UTEP and West Virginia made for a slightly cheerier update than normal.
As for the losses, Howard, Loyola and Southern Illinois are lost causes, while North Florida is slumping.
But Virginia Tech has just been an absolute disaster, starting league play 0-4 and looking completely clueless.
And Alabama's middling 2-2 start in an SEC conference it should be able to finish in the top four in isn't helping, either.
