I heard he might
have been being yelled at and told Frank to fuck off.
That’s my rumor and I’m sticking to it.
When life hands you lemons, make grape juice. Let them wonder how the F*ck you did it.

I can envision something like this actually happening
and it doesn’t surprise me that it would be someone like JO who finally snaps verbally and drops the F bomb.
oh hail the Purple and White
And what frustrates me a lot,
is when coaches try to say, “Well, I’m just preparing them for the future.” I’ve been out of college for 13 years now, and I’ve had many “bosses”, most of whom I liked a lot. But even the ones I didn’t like weren’t screaming in my face whenever I made a mistake. Even the worst dressing-downs I’ve observed in the last dozen plus years have only once included such behavior. And, in that case, the one doing the initial screaming was let go, not the one he was screaming at. I’m trying to think of what other professions would allow such behavior from “boss” to “subordinate”—maybe hedge funds or high finance (a lay “Liar’s Poker”) perhaps?

JO seems so mild mannered, it isn't a shock that it would be him, the gentle giant, that finally snaps

I REALLY hope this is true - I think it's awesome for a few reasons
1. JO, who’s always struck us as a bit of sissy, finally has the beans to fight back against a guy who sometimes comes off as a bully.
2. Martin finally has someone stand up to him, and I don’t think that’s ever a bad thing.
3. This is the kind of crap that can be taken care of with some self-reflection, a 10 minute meeting, and a pair of good practices.
4. Hopefully JO won’t get pushed around any more.
5. Martin might learn to do more coaching and less screaming.
6. It’s going to be a very funny story for this team.

"Conduct detrimental to the team" is the biggest load of shit I have ever heard.
If you can’t say why he is getting suspended then I feel like you shouldn’t be suspending him.
Come on let's be reasonable.
Who knows what is the real reason. It could be minor or major but it certainly does not need to be aired publicly. I can think of at least a half dozen reasons for keeping something like this internally. Let the suspension play itself out and see what happens in the coming week. Bryce Brown was a prime example of why things are left unsaid.

We don’t need to know.

Then why even make the suspension public.
Do it the Bill Snyder way. Brad Smith spent a lot of time practicing and standing on the sideline on game day. We’ll never truly know what the whole story was, but Brad Smith and company know and by bowl game time, the message seems to have soaked in. Seems to me a better way to approach some of these events.
At any rate, I’m growing very very tired of the Frank Martin routine every year about this time.
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself.
I agree about growing tired of the routine...
Its year 4, it should be a stable program by now. The act on the bench, the player turnover, and all the head games with the majority of the team should be pretty much over.
And here in gents lies the problem...
you assume Frank is pulling a Frank. Truth is you have no idea what the story is between JO and the team. He released the suspension so that we, the media and everyone else who gives two cents would not ask over the next two games where is JO and why did he not travel with the team. We know by now what we have in HCFM. If by tired you mean you want a return to basketball indifference irrelevance and trips to the NCAA tourney once a decade then that is a perfectly legitimate position. But I, for one, will continue to support the way the man is coaching until the day he blows a National Championship by yelling at someone or at any point he throws a chair across the hardwood at any juncture.

Here, here
Good sir.
Bobby Hill: What's a meat examination team?
Hank Hill: It's like a debate team, only instead of doing something useless you get to grade the cut and quality of meat!
I feel like I am being reasonable
If its sooooo bad he has to be suspended and its made public then its bad enough that the fan base should get to know, otherwise just bench him for a few games, Frank is good at doing that anyways…
If he didn't play for the next 2 games, the media just would have asked why anyway
I’m not sure how it makes a difference if it’s “public” or not.
And Frank would say
he hasn’t been practicing very good and end of story. Instead he is suspended and we know its gotta be something pretty bad.
Still not seeing the difference here
But whatever. I just hope whatevers going on gets resolved and JO comes back and plays better.
OT: Please vote for my baby
Thanks!

I hope you appreciate how long it took me to sign up for that damn site.
First, it told me I had to log-in or sign-up above in order to vote. So I scroll to the top of the page, see a “Log-In” and “Sign-Up”.
So I follow that process, and sign up for the newspaper, and then try to vote, but it still won’t let me.
Then I realize I had to log in specifically for the contest, so I start that process, linking my facebook account to it.
Unfortunately, the username I selected is too long for the box they give you to link the account, so I have to create a brand new account with a different email in order to vote.
So, just wanted to let you know I did my part, and hopefully prevent other people from being as stupid as me.
My sig needs updated.

I greatly appreciate it.
I too went through the unnecessarily complex obstacle course in order to simply cast a vote.

Have no fear though
as we recently learned, it is not necessarily about the number of fan votes that one gets. Hell, you can be tripled up in total votes and still win the prize after the selection committee has their say.
At least they didn’t give it to Brady Hoke.

Yeah
And I think he sat a game or two.
I don’t know 100% that it went down like this but is the general consensus from my peeps.
My favorite exchange: What constitutes detrimental to the team? Answer: Well you can’t just say he was being an asshole.

Love it
If this is true (and boy I hope it is), I’m really hoping Frank and Jordan laugh about it later.
