Allen "Bubba" Chapman (b. July 23, 1991) was one of the first JUCO defensive backs to commit to K-State in the class of 2011. He later convinced his teammate, Nigel Malone, to commit as well, and Blinn's Kip Daily soon followed.

All three will be needed to offset our cornerback attrition, given that we lost two senior starters from last year's squad.

David Garrett almost certainly will be one of the replacements when the 2011 season begins, but he's shown that his talents are more suited for playing off receivers as a safety. The return of Darious Thomas appears unlikely at best.

It would be nice if two or more of the JUCO guys could play well enough to allow Garrett to play more nickel. But of the three, Chapman has the most ground to make up.

Malone was here for spring camp and Daily participated in summer workouts. But Chapman didn't make it to campus until Aug. 1 because he had to finish a summer class, so it might be prudent to limit expectations for him this year.
