Yahoo! Sports Bombshell by Charles Robinson
Charles Robinson has a huge bombshell expose that is going to be very bad news for the University of Miami and the University of Missouri and their coach, Frank Haith. K-State may not be unscathed, as there are articles linking Arthur Brown and Bryce Brown as well. We will hear about this for days and months. Let's hope this not a problem for the Kansas State University Wildcats or Head Coach Bill Snyder. I'm certain that if these allegations are true, Frank Haith is toast.

If these allegations are true
would that make both Brown brothers ineligible for this upcoming season? Or would it be a matter of just repaying the money that was accepted?
They are ineligible
until the problem is resolved and they are reinstated.
I hope to god the department is on top of this.

That's what I was afraid of...
Crap. Maybe we need to take a leaf out of RMN and have a Karma thread.
That karma thread has to be one
of the greatest things i’ve ever seen on sbnation.

Jon - Don't intend to argue, but
I believe the fact that they transferred and sat out a year may make this a different situation. Won’t look good for us; not sure they can penalize the kid who cheated at one school but is now at another. I admit I may be wrong on this.
No wonder Kirby Hocutt split for Tx Tech! He probably knew this was coming.
The money, corruption and general failure of values in Big Time College Football is becoming harder to take with each new revelation.
oh hail the Purple and White
I would imagine the compliance department...
…will be working overtime to get this straightened out.
Without any special knowledge of the NCAA rulebook, I would tend to agree with Jon. It seems like they probably have to be considered ineligible until this is straightened out. Of course, if it’s a close call and we have a good-faith belief that they’re eligible, I say play them.

It worked for Auburn.
I just threw up in my mouth a little, but still.
Improve every day. (Read it again. It has more meaning than what you first see.)
I imagine if someone got on the horn to the NCAA this morning
the problem could be resolved in time for the season.

Um, yes. They can.
If they’re ineligible because they received impermissible benefits, then they’re ineligible. It doesn’t matter who GAVE them the benefits.
We’re not in trouble for signing them, but we’re going to have to clarify their status before we let them on the field, otherwise we could face vacated games.

Presumably it would be something similar to the Pullen/Kelly incident, right?
Wasn’t the rule 30% of the season for accepting anything over XXX amount?
4 game suspension? Assuming the transfer/sit out a year doesn’t matter.
Holy Crap
Is there any bright side in that this happened before the Brothers Brown played?
Losing them now would be better than having to vacate in the future.
screw this, I should be sleeping anyway.

Well, this is bullshit.
Can we never catch a break? There goes the season.
Would you like some Freys with that?
Because of two players? C'mon, man.
There are more than 130 players on the team. We’ll be fine.
Yeah, we’ll miss Arthur — WE THINK — but he and Bryce haven’t done shit yet. It’s all just hype.

Come on...
Allow me my disproportionate melt-down.
Another sign that we need the season to start.

For whatever reason...
… I couldn’t find the main article when I first posted this thread. Here is the front end article.
I learned something today
Miami is a corrupt, dirty shithole of a school.

arthur seems to be in more deep than Bryce..
i’m guessing it will only several games for Arthur, maybe a couple for Bryce. But i really have no idea.
I guess the silver lining in this
is that it will be a long, long, time before the University of Miami is an attractive destination for Frank Martin.

I feel one of those 2 a.m. FanPosts coming on;
there is some serious crap floating around; won’t be able to sleep, so I may as well pound away at the keyboard.
First, aTm fartin around; now this.
It has to be Ron Prince’s fault.
oh hail the Purple and White
It all leads back to Ron...
…because you know that if he hadn’t been the coach here, Arthur and Bryce would have just signed with K-State and never even met Nevin Shapiro.

Hey, Furnace
Remember when you were absolutely sure Frank was headed for Miami?

He DID state it with an utter certitude, that I didn't see anywhere else.
He also posited it as a part of some grand conspiracy to do in KSU.

I am all for consequences for your actions...
but they are not with the program any more. Additionally, they already sat out an entire season after transferring. So the NCAA thinks that an additional 1-3 games is in the best interest of the athlete? Just give them community service by visiting the childen’s ward at KU Med or some similar punishment.

When has the NCAA ever had the best interest of the athlete in mind?
It's not that I'm lazy; it's that I just don't care. (#739)
/sarcasm
Because the CAPD at K-State made me part of what I am today. :)

Too bad next year's Miami football game
will now be against South Dakota.

I was "negotiating" with a Notre Dame fan on EDSBS last night
but they don’t want to come to Manhattan. :(

Hell, what about the Ohio State-Miami game?
The announcers won’t be able to keep the infractions and the suspensions straight! They’ll need a cheat sheet!
Ha ha I was thinking the same thing.
In an epic QB battle between Terrelle Pryor and Jacory Harris…..d’oh!
Surgeon General's Warning: K-State-Mizzou basketball may increase the risk of high blood pressure. Please consult your doctor prior to watching any of these games.
Cheat Sheet haha
It’s funny because they cheated!!

That's great.
And I am hearing you say that in the voice of the guy on Family Guy who always explains the facetious jokes.
