Nigel Malone (b. Sept. 26, 1990) appears to be the front-runner for the starting cornerback spot opposite David Garrett, if only because Malone was present for spring camp and the other primary contenders were not.

If the season started today, I'd pencil him in there, but look out for fellow JUCO transfer Kip Daily, who was present for summer workouts and 7-on-7 drills.

Daily's a bit bigger than Malone and might be able to pass him if he learns quickly.

Malone recorded 25 tackles, three interceptions, nine pass breakups and one forced fumble in 2010 for City College.

The team was 22-2 during his two active seasons there. (He grayshirted in 2008.)
