58 DAYS TO KICKOFF: Kyle Klein
|
#58 Kyle Klein |
Position: Defensive End Previous College: None Projection: Redshirt Status: On Scholarship |
Kyle Edward Klein (b. Oct. 25, 1991) and Collin Klein together comprise one of the less heralded brotherly pairs on K-State's football team. Less heralded, that is, compared to the brothers Brown or Lamur.
If Kyle proves to be even half as athletic as his older brother, he could end up being a pretty good player for us.
I expect him to redshirt this season in order to gain more weight, since we're pretty deep at defensive end already.
That would be on top of the grayshirt season he used in 2010. This is the Bill Snyder formula for team turnarounds...

So
would Bill’s preferred starting lineup be a bunch of 24 or 25 year olds who have been on campus for 6 years? I guess that would mean we’d have a bunch of super experienced dudes on the team.
We need to start recruiting Utah
send those kids on a mormon mission with a playbook and workout regimen. By the time they come back, they’re disciplined, know the playbook, and are physically ready to compete with the big boys. Genius!
No, it's more that we can't recruit physical freak 18-year-olds because they get 5 stars and go to Alabama or Texas.
So we settle for guys with speed OR physical size, but not both, and use redshirts and grayshirts to address whichever one they don’t have.
Kyle
Does anyone know if he has the athletic ability to compensate for size? 218 pounds is undersize for Big 12 (actually 10 since we have downsized like everything else) games. He will be trying to get off the line against 260+ defensive lineman.
who was that other former third string qb
That played a little DE, and made a guy fumble at Farmaggeddon 1? I forget. He beat his girlfriend or something and then wound up playing D3 ball or something in Missouri or Iowa or something?
"Nor yet in Dell?"
No kidding
I didn’t know he was playing for the TBones. I’ll have to look for the guy if I make it to a game this year.
That's right, he went away to play college ball.
That would be fun to go watch. Gives me a reason to go to the T-bones game. I was not impressed the one time I went. I’m pretty close to the stadium so maybe I’ll catch a Wichita-KC game considering I grew up in Wichita.
"Nor yet in Dell?"
as a small suggestion.
It always sounds better to me to put the brothers before the surname.
As in, “the brothers Brown”
screw this, I should be sleeping anyway.
